WHO ARE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL CONSULTING

We will be seeking the views of the following groups:

  • • parents of children between the ages of two and eighteen
  • • other people in the relevant area who may have an interest in the proposed admission arrangements
  • • all other admission authorities within the relevant area
  • • all community and voluntary controlled schools in Nottinghamshire
  • • chairs of governing bodies of Nottinghamshire schools
  • • diocesan representatives (relevant religious authorities)
  • • admission authorities in neighbouring local authority areas
  • • all registered early years providers within Nottinghamshire

Are you our new Clerk’s Assistant?

About the Role

Clipstone Parish Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic community minded individual to the post of Clerk’s Assistant.

The Council is experiencing a period of rapid change and the right person will be flexible and adaptable.

You will be educated to at least GCSE standard with 5 passes at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths.

You are efficient in using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel. You will be keen to learn new skills.

You will need to be friendly and approachable, a team player with the ability to work on your own, have excellent communication skills and manage your time and workload effectively.

Job Description

Hours of Work

Initially 10 hours per week Monday to Friday.

We will agree the detailed core working hours with the successful candidate which will include covering the parish office opening hours.  

 Salary

The role is graded on the Senior Parish Worker Scale. The annual pay of £5,808 is equivalent to £11.14/hour.

Pension

You will have opportunity to join the Clipstone Parish Council pension scheme.

Holidays

You will receive 28 days annual leave, inclusive of all bank and public holidays (pro-rata).

Smaller authorities, like parish councils, must publish various documents on a publicly available website as required by the  Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, the Local Audit (Smaller Authorities) Regulations 2015 and the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities. These include:

  • Annual Internal Audit Report 2020/21, page 3
  • Section 1 – Annual Governance Statement 2020/21, page 4
  • Section 2 – Accounting Statements 2020/21, page 5
  • Analysis of variances
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Notice of the period for the exercise of public rights and other information required by Regulation 15 (2), Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015.

The accounts are as yet unaudited. The external auditor’s report will be available by 30 September.

Village Hall reopening

After many months of being forced to close to the public, we are slowly reopening. We will be re-opening in a Covid-secure way. Some groups have already been able to return. Others will be able to start 17 May and 19 July respectively. Most evenings are already booked by existing regular users but there are still slots for daytime activities available.

Calling talented people to start new daytime community groups in the Village Hall.

Applications from Knit and Natter groups, Craft Sessions, Chair Based Exercise, Yoga and Pilates are welcome. Can you think of anything else? Let us know.

What’s on?

Please note that all of these activities require you to book with the group or club leader in advance so the Covid-secure capacity within the guidelines is not exceeded. We are currently waiting for detailed guidance on facemasks and social distancing.

CASUAL VACANCY FOR PARISH COUNCILLOR

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for Clipstone Parish Council – Cavendish Ward.

The vacancy has arisen due to the resignation of councillor P Greenwood and their term of office would have ordinarily expired in May 2023.

An election to fill the vacancies will be held if within 14 days* from the date below, TEN electors who are included on the Register of Electors at an address in the Clipstone Parish – Clipstone Ward, give notice in writing claiming such election to: –

  • The Returning Officer
  • Castle House
  • Great North Road
  • Newark
  • NG24 1BY

If no such notice is given, The Returning Officer will notify the Parish Council, who may then fill the vacancies by co-option.
